Moscow Mayor: Construction, indus firms can resume work May 12
MOSCOW, May 6 (PRIME) -- Moscow can allow all construction and industrial facilities to resume operations from May 12, the city’s Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.
“We can make a decision to allow operations… of all industrial facilities… and all construction facilities from (May) 12… It is important for the economy of the city and for the economy of the country, because orders of Moscow’s companies create around 3.5 jobs around Russia,” he said.
The move does not mean termination of the lockdown regime and the city’s government sees opening of the service industry premature yet, he also said.
Putin approved the idea to reopen construction and industrial facilities in Moscow.
The president also said that governors of each Russian region should make their decisions on further actions basing on recommendations of the Federal Service for Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare Oversight and the local situation.
